Lloris definitely. Buffon is good, Cassilas has slipped a bit in form, Van Der Sar has retired internationally, Cech can't play but anyway he has went back in form A LOT ! Germany's keepers are good but need time to prove themselves specifically Neuer. Julio Ceasar is consistent but I don't rate him as the best because he is limited with his capabilities.
Lloris is only 23 and took Mandanda, Frey and Carasso out of 1st spot, and most of all you cannot limit his abilities , or in other words unpredictable in a positive way ofcourse. Definitely he is similar to Cassilass in that sense but I think he is even more imposing. This WC will be his time to shine and next year he will most probably leave to another club. ![]() I have high hopes he will be one of the best goalkeepers ever. |

Although I really respect these two Goalkeepers but this thread is about GK in this year's World Cup, sorry this "DECADE"
I still stick with Lloris (France's no. 1) as my favorite this year and probs the next and the next..!

All goal keepers are good this year..
inou all teams have lots to choose from.. Who doesnt fail is the best... Oliver Khan and failed in front Ronaldo twice.. and if i had to choose one, i will go to the brazilian GK Reasons: as i said before all GK are good and the best in there nation.. but what y brazilians , coz simply they are the best in Penalty kicks .. The Technique used does not depend on luck...like most other techniques.. That is a quality in a GK to be taken into consideration. Last edited by ibllise; 05-18-2010 at 06:57 PM. |

The only reason Ceasar would ever be the best Gk in the tournament is because the defense won't allow any goal in. I don't rate him THAT high.

i wouldnt rate that high the Brazilian defense...
They control the match , they score lots of goals, they win... Attack is the best formation of defense... |

^^^ man this was like 4-5 years or more ago. Now they play defensively. Did you watch them for the last four years with Dunga ? Their defense is also the best in the world.
Maicon/Alves - Lucio/Luisao- Juan/T.Silva-Bastos/Gilberto That is a huge defensive line, better than any other in the world. Their style of play under Dunga has been sit back, play aggressive, leave no space, pressing very high starting from the midfield line, and then counter attack with Kaka and Robinho and Maicon and Bastos from the sides. |
