It happens such way very often. At first they think "oh, nothing will happen, it is just some fun". No one starts it and plans to be an addict. It is the main danger about it.

Well for those of you who don't know. Cannabis (Marijuana) is a doorway drug. It's called a doorway drug because (as Russian said), it leads the way to other more addictive substances. It's true that marijuana can't kill you. But it is in fact addictive.

You can google THC yourself, which is the active ingredient in marijuana, for information on how it acts on opioid receptors in the brain.

As for my own opinion, i believe that substances such as Tobacco, Alcohol, Illegal drugs (which are illegal for good reasons) and Marijuana ( illegal or not), and other substances should be banned and be made illegal. Not only because of their addictive properties, but because of the harm the cause to they human body, to others, and because of the staggering health bills the country has to pay to treat illnesses related to these substances.

Rich or not, this is no excuse. A rich man will drive, will be out of his mind, and will do whatever crazy shenanigans associated with a drug induced high from heroin, cocain, PCP or whatever. He will be a danger to himself and to others.

That's my opinion anyway, and it's partially subject to debate

I might be very late to go through the conversation but i share Kain's point of view. To sum it up actually not all drugs are addictive:
1- Smoking a joint of Hash won't make u addicted to it. It only gives u the feel of drinkin like 2 or 3 glasses of scotch. Maximum time of 2h hours and everything is back to normal.
2- Smoking a joint of Marijuana won't make u an addict either. Most artists have it coz it gives u lots of new ideas that in ur normal situation ma btokhtor 3a belkoun heik ideas!!
3- Having some coke isn't really a good thing since it is one of the most expensive drugs. It doesn't make u an addict but u'll get addicted to it since when having it u'll feel that u have the power and it makes one hell of an important person in the society since u'll start talking non-stop and great ideas will come out from you
4- Heroin is the only addictive drug. If you have the guts to stink urself with the needle then u must really be a stupid or maybe have no hope in life...

1-Yes it could get you addicted,and it could even lead you to wanting to experiment with other drugs to mount that effect you get.
2-A lot of people can get creative with no need for marijuana.If they can't it's due to failure from their part(and in that case...their creativity isn't coming out of them).People could feed their creativity off of daily events,happiness,even sadness...it doesn't have to involve drugs.
3-If someone needs drugs to boost their self esteem or feel important and come up with great ideas then something's wrong right there.
4-Because anyone that does other drugs is bursting with hope and wits and love for life
All drugs have short and long term effects.Not worth it.
