When u look a t nature,
you see renewable resouces .
Well ,plants are part of these renewable resources.
Every year ,they produce fruits and vegetables.
So why not profit?
why kill an animal end their lives
for our selfish needs ?

Cherry, i'm sorry, i really mean no disrespect but the topic reminded me of an article maddox wrote a looong time ago (waynak ya kingroudy )..and i thought i'd share it with you guys

Nullify the vegetarian moral crusade:

Ever get the feeling that vegetarians consider themselves morally superior to you? Like they think that not eating meat makes them so special that their crap doesn't stink? As if when someone stops eating meat, they suddenly become holy and dignified and it excuses them for the years of inconvenience and frustration they inevitably inflict upon their friends, family and co-workers who just want to go to a restaurant and order a damn steak without constantly being reminded that they're going to hell for eating an animal that spends most of its life crapping in a field. There are those of us who don't have a hyperactive sense of guilt and we don't give a crap about your mixed up self-righteous moral vegetarian agenda.

"I can't eat meat." The four worst words to hear when you're going to a restaurant with someone. I literally cringe every time I hear those words because I know it means that we have to drive around the city for 2 hours looking for some restaurant that serves "friendly" burgers, which ironically look and taste exactly like hamburgers--which vegetarians object to eating because it's either

A) gross
or
B) murder.

If it's so gross, then why go out of your way to eat something exactly like it? It's funny how vegetarians suddenly stop nagging about murder as soon as you point out their fancy leather belt or shoes, or that they drive a car and use electricity which contributes to polluting the earth and contaminating everything including the precious animals that they refuse to eat.

Well I'm tired of it. So what I've decided to do is sponsor a vegetarian! It's easy and spiteful, and we all know how much fun spiting people is! I'll explain..
What does it mean to sponsor a vegetarian?
It means that you have to find someone in your life who's a really big pain in everyone's behind every time you want to go out to eat, and then you commit yourself to eating THREE times the amount of meat you'd normally consume to make up for all the meat that your vegetarian buddy isn't eating. It's that simple! That way, you can reverse the guilt trip that they've been laying on us for years by not only neutralizing their cause, but making it actually worse by eating more animals than would have ever been eaten had they not chosen to become vegetarians!

What if vegetarians say they don't care because we'll become fat by sponsoring them? I've thought about that already. All you have to do is exercise. I know it goes against the being lazy rule that I advocate so much, but this is so spiteful that it more than makes up for the exercise you'll have to do--which means that if you choose the 3 to 1 plan and sponsor a vegetarian, you're being so spiteful that you can't lose! If you have a choice, eat three separate types of animal to maximize your efficiency! Only offered beef? No problem: visit the zoo and eat a monkey!
The best part of it is that this plan is bullet proof. Finally those of us who don't have our heads firmly planted up our behinds (with respect to vegetarianism, don't get me wrong, most people still need a crowbar up side the head) have a tool to combat these moral elitists!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again Cherry, this is not addressed to you it was just a funny article i wanted to share. And if you haven't read any Maddox article before then be assured he talks that way about any given subject so don't take the article seriously

Researchers from Michigan State University have discovered that plants have a rudimentary nerve structure, which allows them to feel pain. According to the peer-reviewed journal Plant Physiology, plants are capable of identifying danger, signaling that danger to other plants and marshaling defenses against perceived threats. According to botanist Bill Williams of the Helvetica Institute, "plants not only seem to be aware and to feel pain, they can even communicate."
--------------------------------------------------------------------

as for wikipedia

HOWEVER

Overall, there is little concrete, universally verified evidence suggesting that there is any truth to the theory, and it is therefore apt to receive a great deal of contempt among scientific circles, often disdainfully called 'the Backster Effect'. Skeptics typically criticize the fact that many experiments into 'plant perception' are not taken in controlled conditions and that therefore their results are not verifiable evidence of its existence. Many skeptics of the theory also state that, since plants lack nervous or sensory systems, they are not capable of having feelings, or perceiving human emotions or intentions, which would require a complex nervous system. The primary emotional center in the animal brain is believed to be the limbic system which is absent in plants, just like the rest of the nervous system

(also from wikipedia)
(once i get the study i will provide the link)

We humans are so similar to animals..we both have hearts..lungs..blood...nerves..brains..
Brains give messages for our bodies to feel things
and give responces to outter stimulations..
Since animals have brains too so they feel exactly like we do!

When u see animals blood..doesnt it remind u of humans blood?

So I'm not saying eat plants coz we cant hear them cry bas Im saying ino they're not as animals...ba3den the fruits wel vegetables iza ma ne7na atafnayon byu2a3o la wa7don...like el aple, btu2a3 la wa7da iza ma atafnaya and we can eat it ..

mmm lets see i've been watching these overwhelming discussion, >>meat eater here<< so meat lovers dont be alarmed , i just have some few pointers i'd like to point out, surely god created animals to be consumed and plants were made for the same reason, so no comparison is allowed to be made, considering they're both a sort of life form but as "Cherry: pointed out plants are renewable, let me put this in a way that everyone can understand, first let me pose a question, what are fruits, vegetables...
the answer: excess materials produced by plants and stored in that form so when ur consuming it ur not acctually hurting the plant, now that settles the point that plants have feeling too and dont try to get smart vegetarian or even normal meat eating people do precisely consume these specific plant products

i removed that part for lack of conclusive evidence but let's progress on a hypothetical basis.

The point is that plants also feel pain. But do not express it as we would.

Exactly my point. They're not as animals but they still have feelings.

Which can be compared to a dying animal. If we don't eat them they'll die and go to waste
