There are two effiecient ways to scan a book without damaging it.
1)High speed cameras 2)Scanners, i don't know if lasers fall in this category too. In (1) you need a high speed camera and a mechanism that flips the pages of the book, so that the camera pictures the pages of the book..which can be done very fast, such as in the previous post. But I doubt it will have a good quality..actually it will have a shitty quality because if you have to do it so fast then the pages will flip so fast they will curve or bend sometimes so the outputted content will not be aligned as in normal condition. Which again depends on the camera and the precision of the flipping mechanism. In (2) , there are two ways to scan a book. 1st method is the scanner being the constant device and you pass the book over (which is the method used by most people). The second method is to hold the book constant and pass over a scanning device. I think this method could give you the best image quality and could be satisfyingly fast, you could pass two scanners each on one side of the book, which will give you double the speed. Also you can attach something like a vacuum sucker alongside the scanner which will let go when the device finishes scanning the page. Thus you will have a fast scanner/page flipper in one device, which is less tolerant and more faster than the flipping by some mechanisms.

Loaded..
Well you would definitely need technological innovators , normal people wouldnt do the trick , like you would need an airway to the book flopping the pages slowly while some super fast scanner scans all the pages while they flop .

okey ull need 3 cameras connected to a single PC or some networking programming to communicate them.
first place the book opened by perpendicularly (90 degrees) with all the papers on the upper side compressed by a metal controller. Then start releasing the metal, this is were the 1st camera comes into place it will act as a motion sensor and when it detects a paper moving it will halt the metal to fully compress(to get a clear picture view) and then it will initiate the 2nd camera to take a photo of the upper page. Now this system is definitely faulty as it is mechanical thus we will need some correction method and this is were the 3rd camera comes in used to detect we are on the correct page(image processing techniques). It will in turn store the missed pages which are to be handled later on. when this process ends we repeat it for the other side of the book and with some picture rotation you got your self a scanner whose bottleneck is the error/speed relation of the controller of papers and with ideal conditions you can scan the book within a couple of minutes. Definitely you can optimize by using 1 camera instead of 3 but to achieve full speed I recommend 3. Hope you understood what I just described Goodluck |

Hack the print house server and get a soft copy of the typed copy, or simply, go to check the print house and as them to check their machinery implement a data capture on the entry of the printer transfer all the data wireless to your pc
