Sir Alex Ferguson believes Chelsea's familiarity with Old Trafford gives them an advantage over other European visitors in the Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti's side triumphed at the Theatre of Dreams last season, United's last home defeat, and the nature of the all-English tie means the Reds are fully aware of the threat posed by the Londoners.

"A British team coming here is different to a European team," the boss admitted. "Although Juventus and Milan, over the years, have played here a few times.

"For Chelsea, they are here every year. There's a familiarity with the stadium, the size of the pitch, the conditions of the pitch. All these things are in their favour compared with other European teams.

"We'll see - it will be an interesting game."

Sir Alex also feels Chelsea's obsessive desire to win the Champions League can be unhealthy.

The Blues were denied by United at the death in 2008 and have been unlucky at the semi-final stage over the years. The boss admits he had a similar ambition before the Treble-clinching triumph against Bayern Munich in 1999.

"It seems to be an obsession for them and that's certainly why they signed Fernando Torres," he said. "Roman Abramovich, the owner, has nailed his colours to the mast in that respect. I've thought that for quite a while with them.


"But, at the end of the day, it's a very difficult competition to win. All the best teams are there. You see the form of Barcelona at the moment and it's fantastic.

"Can you imagine the Real Madrid v Barcelona semi-final? I'll be going to that!

"To have an obsession to win it, you stretch yourself a wee bit. I had an obsession for a bit, when I lost a few semi-finals. You say to yourself, you're never going to do it. When we did it in Barcelona [in 1999], it was the greatest feeling of all time and it took the monkey off our back.

"I can understand it but it doesn't make Chelsea any more desperate than us. We'll be desperate to win tomorrow night."

anyways for the ones who actually wanna talk about the game, I really think l ta3ab got to them, I mean we were slow, we looked weak, our legs weren't fresh, they outran us, outplayed us, and eventually won w medre kif kamen! so City still are weak to be honest, bas they fought hard w we were exhausted, so maybe this result is more or like "expected" seeing how we played last weekend then in the middle of the week w against Chelsea mech 7ayalla 7ada w now City, whereas City only played one game w their fixtures weren't exactly m2attle ba3da! So I think not putting Giggs in w Rooney resting w Chicha coming off the bench aswell as Fletcher being off, is a better sacrifice for the chances of winning the CL Semis and the EPL..cz Sir Alex knows he hasn't got a strong of a squad as he did when he achieved the treble back in 1999, so it just makes more sense to do what he did here today.
Do u agree or ... ? I just hate the fact that it had to be City who caught us tired, but well...it's just meant to happen if ur squad doesn't have the depth and yet has 3 fronts to play on..so?

ذكرت تقارير صحيفة إنجليزية أن الاروغواني دييغو فورلان مهاجم أتلتيكو مدريد الإسباني قد يعود إلى المان يونايتد الانكليزي في فترة الانتقالات الصيفية بعد أن توترت علاقته بمدرب الفريق في الاَونة الأخيرة.

والجدير بالذكر ان فورلان كان مطلوبا من قبل توتنهام في فترة الانتقالات الشتوية الماضية لكن النادي الإسباني رفض التخلي عنه والذي تبلغ قيمته الحالية 9 ملايين جنيه استرليني.
يذكر أن فورلان لم يسجل حضورا متميزا في الفترة التي لعب فيها مع المان يونايتد حيث سجل فقط 10 أهداف في 60 مباراة خاضها.

أكدت صحيفة The Sun الانكليزية أن فريق مانشستر يونايتد سيتخلى عن 10 لاعبين في نهاية هذا الموسم بسب خطة جديدة يريد اعتمادها المدرب أليكس فيرغسون

وأوضح المدرب أنه لن يسمح للعاطفة بأن تقف في طريق نجاحه فوظيفته هي قيادة فريق بقيمة مانشستر يونايتد وتحقيق الفوز والنتائج البارزة مشيراً أنه سيكون صارماً بقراراته المقبلة

واضاف المدرب المخضرم أن عليه أن يكون قادراً على اتخاذ القرارات التي تكون خاطئة أحياناً لكن هذا الأمر لا يقلقه
