I was surprised when i heared from some people that GMA and Hizbullah are involved....it's out of mind...why Pierre was killed now? 14 mars wer scared from manifestations of the opposition and they know it... they will go home if a precoce elections will be done...so they anticipate and here we are...

Si toute porte à croire que Damas est lié à l'assassinat de Pierre Gemayel, Barah Mikaïl, chercheur à l'IRIS, souligne néanmoins quelques incohérences sur son implication.

Barah Mikaïl est chercheur sur le Proche-Orient à l'Institut des relations internationales et stratégiques (IRIS).

LCI.fr : Pourquoi Pierre Gemayel, pourquoi maintenant ?
Barah Mikaïl : Plus que pour ses fonctions, il a été visé pour le symbole qu'il représente. Il était l'hériter de la famille Gemayel, qui a marqué l'Histoire du Liban. Son grand-père, Pierre, a fondé les Phalanges, son oncle Béchir a dirigé les Forces libanaises avant de devenir président et d'être assassiné. Enfin, son père, Amine, a également été président entre 1982 et 1988.

Cette dynastie Gemayel a marqué la vie libanaise, notamment au moment de l'indépendance en 1943 et à la fin des années 70 et au début des années 80. L'action des Gemayel portait une vision spécifique, chrétienne, de l'avenir du Liban. C'est cette vision que l'on a voulu atteindre en assassinant Pierre Gemayel. Quant au timing, difficile de répondre sans savoir qui sont les commanditaires de l'attentat.


LCI.fr : Justement, à qui profite le crime ?
B.M. : Il s'agit d'une tentative de déstabilisation qui est destinée à accroître la polarisation politique du pays. En fait, deux coupables sont envisageables : la Syrie ou les autres.

La piste syrienne et de ses alliés locaux, le Hezbollah et Amal, est la plus évidente. Mais elle se heurte néanmoins à plusieurs contradictions. Tout d'abord, Damas prépare un rapprochement avec l'Irak (ndlr : les deux pays ont rétabli leurs relations diplomatiques mardi), et donc indirectement avec les Etats-Unis. Ce rapprochement pourrait être mis à mal par l'assassinat de Pierre Gemayel. De son côté, le Hezbollah s'apprêtait à demander aux Libanais de descendre dans la rue pour manifester contre le gouvernement. Or l'assassinat va renforcer ce dernier contre l'opposition. Enfin, à l'Onu, l'attentat va isoler la Syrie. Il a notamment renforcé la Conseil de sécurité dans sa mise en place du tribunal chargé de juger les tueurs de Rafic Hariri, pour lequel Damas est soupçonné. Le régime de Bachar el-Assad est-il suicidaire à ce point ? C'est possible.

Mais il ne faut pas pour autant écarter les autres pistes. Et là, il y a en a beaucoup trop pour avoir une idée claire.

"L'attitude du général Aoun sera déterminante"

LCI.fr : L'attentat fait ressurgir le spectre d'une nouvelle guerre civile.
B.M. : Il y a en effet de gros risques qui tiennent à la particularité du Liban : la classe politique est cloisonnée par sa marque confessionnelle. Les leaders ne peuvent pas exister en dehors de leur confession. A terme, leur affrontement est inévitable. Reste donc à savoir si la logique confessionnelle sera poussée à son extrême. Si c'est le cas, la base et les sympathisants des différentes formations politiques pourraient se rallier à leurs chefs. L'affrontement politique deviendrait alors confessionnel.

A ce sujet, l'attitude du général Aoun sera déterminante. Chrétien, il s'est rallié au bloc chiite lors des élections qui ont suivi la mort de Hariri. Cette alliance a pour l'instant évité la division des Libanais entre chiites et non-chiites. Sera-t-elle maintenue ?

على وقع التعازي بالوزير الجميّل، هاجم رئيس “اللقاء الديموقراطي” النائب وليد جنبلاط، بعنف “النظام السوري” متهماً إياه باغتيال الجميل، وتوقع استمرار الاغتيالات هرباً من المحكمة الدولية.
وقال “ليعلم حاكم دمشق أنه مهما استفحل في القتل فلن يخيف اللبنانيين”، مؤكداً أن “كل اغتيال هو مسمار اضافي في نعش النظام السوري”. وأكد ان هدف الاغتيال “إنقاص عدد أعضاء الحكومة حتى تفقد الغالبية وإنقاص عدد النواب حتى لا تتمكن الهيئتان من إبرام نظام المحكمة”. وإذ وصف جنبلاط الامين العام لحزب الله السيد حسن نصر الله بـ“المنتصر الإلهي” دعاه الى “إعطاء وزرائه اشارة العودة الى الحكومة والتصويت معنا على عدالة المحكمة الدولية”. وأضاف “عندما يشارك في إقرار العدالة ننسى الماضي وندخل في نقاش حول الحكومة التي لا تستطيع ان تولد إلا من خلال توافق عام ومن خلال رئيس جمهورية جديد”. كما تمنى على الرئيس بري “الدعوة الى جلسة نيابية للموافقة على المحكمة الدولية من اجل وحدة لبنان واستقراره”.

تقفل المؤسسات التجارية والصناعية والمصرفية والمالية والسياحية والزراعية اليوم الجمعة وغدا السبت، في جميع المناطق اللبنانية، تنفيذا لقرار الهيئات الاقتصادية التي عقدت اجتماعا استثنائيا، وذلك ردا على جريمة اغتيال الوزير بيار الجميل، ولرفع صوتها في وجه من استهدفوا لبنان والوقوف في وجه الاجرام والانقسام..
وطالبت الهيئات بعودة الوزراء السبعة المستقيلين عن استقالاتهم، كما دعت المجلس النيابي الى الاجتماع لاتخاذ القرارات الوطنية وفي طليعتها الموافقة على انشاء المحكمة الدولية، كما طالبت جميع الفرقاء بالتوقف عن توجيه التهديدات المتبادلة بالنزول الى الشارع ودعت المسؤولين الى متابعة جلسات الحوار والتشاور. وتركت الهيئات اجتماعاتها مفتوحة على ان تعقد اجتماعا يوم الاحد المقبل لاتخاذ المواقف المناسبة التي تمليها عليها التطورات المستجدة.
