Protection of Lebanon and preservation of its independence and Sovereignty.

Defending Lebanon and protecting its independence is a responsibility and a national duty governed by international treaties and the UN Universal declaration of Human Rights. They are to be undertaken Vis-a-Vis any challenges and dangers wherever they may come from. For that matter, bearing arms is not a goal in itself but a legitimate and sacred means duly allowed to any group whose land is occupied. Similarly, so is political resistance.


Within this context the arms of Hezbollah are to be confined within a reconciliation of two limits:

The first is the need for national consensus to maintain the arms. The second is the need to objectively identify the conditions upon which the need for bearing arms may be extinguished. For as long as Israel continues to occupy the Shebaa farms, threaten Lebanon and hold Lebanese captives, the Lebanese people must assume and share the responsibility of protecting the Lebanese entity and preserving its security, sovereignty and independence by way of:

a- Liberating the Shebaa farm from Israeli occupation

b- Liberating the Lebanese held captive in Israeli Jails

c- Protecting the Lebanese from Israeli dangers through national dialogue aiming at devising a strategic defence policy agreed upon by the Lebanese, participating in it and sharing its costs and its rewards.
