Today a virus infected the classroom, no electronic device was able to escape from it ... until AVG came!! (mna3melkone chwayit action)
Last week a Virus infected the university lab, it moved silently from one PC to the other until all PCs where infected, The university technical team formated all the PC and restricted USBs and blocked Internet. (That makes a uni PC lab very useful I know )The PC are now clean, (from viruses but some dust is accumulating on them due to the lack of usage from users who got tired of watching monitors on PCs that can't do a thing) but the Virus was still silently hiding in some USBs and today it launched a new devastating attack! Today we had a presentations to do, so the people with laptops brought them and the people with USBs brought there USBs but we could only use the teacher's laptop to do the presentation! So USBs began to travel in the classroom and one of them was infected, this USB "met" a laptop and infected it, the Laptop owner used another USB to put his presentation on it and also infected it, this USB met the teacher's Laptop and ... disaster, the virus started moving from the teacher's laptop to every USB in class which also returned to students laptop to host new presentation, at the end of the day all USBs where probably infected and we only discovered the infections when my USB "met" my friend's laptop! When it did, my friend called me, he told me that my USB have a virus inside of it, I was surprised and told him that I checked it this morning and that was probably a file that I had on it but that didn't harm PCs, but something pushed me to go and check what's happening so I went and found out that the detected virus was not mine!! AVG had detected a Virus (but Norton didn't) and the USB booting (I have SLAX on it) and auto starting option where modified, we cleaned the USB and retraced (by guessing how it probably happened) the virus path in the classroom, we backed up the USB and formated it, then checked other USBs in the classroom ... they where all infected - our predictions where right! Thanks to AVG my USB was cleaned and my friend's laptop remained clean, but this virus is still on many USBs and laptops in the uni, and the uni is still using the same "anti"-virus it used before the infection. PS: 1- University's anti-virus : Norton 2- Anti-Viruses on other PCs: Symantech, Kaspersky, Norton So my advice to you: choose your anti-virus carefully, that's the first time I witness a virus spreading and believe me, it's fast and not very beautiful to have on your devices! |

Ok ok, for the pc in the uni, just get firefox and install the "no script" extension for it, and then setup zone alarm, that will prevent any virus from going into the pc....zone alarm

Isn't This Virus A Type Of Worms Or Something?
Cause I Know That Viruses Doesn't Spread That Way, Only Worms Do. Anyways... Thanks For The Advice, Now I Can Trust My AVG, LoL, I Hate Norton, Not Only Cause It's Not Effective As The Others... But Also Cause It Slows Down The PC!!! I Hate It ![]()

what is that virus? what does it do?
i think that it make a hard or flash drive autoplay (and ask for a software), this is what i undestood. if yes, then also bitdefender 10 can catch it(happened with me), cuz at our uni, half of the USB flash drives are infected and Sophos is not catching those viruses
