Concerning Religion: Homosexual teens can not confide in parents, friends, or often even the church/Mosque.Christianity condemns homosexuality and back up their beliefs with the Bible, same goes for Islam backing up their beliefs with the Qoran. However, the major references to homosexuality in the Bible are badly mistranslated. Nowhere does the Bible mention same-sex love negatively; it only mentions prostitution, specifically in reference to local cults. “Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable“ this has been translated from Hebrew to Greek wrong. The Hebrews had no word for homosexual behavior therefore it was translated as "the man who lies with a male - the lying of a woman" this phrase could have been translated one of two ways. The first being “lying of a male" and the second "lying with a male." One is interpreted as any homosexual act, and the other as an act of male prostitution. The sin is not the act of homosexuality but is the act of male prostitution. These are some ways of interpreting this Bible verse. The story of Adam and Eve is often used to defend homophobia. The saying that is most often used for this purpose is that God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. They conclude from this story that man and woman were made in God's image together and this is the way that God intended. But nowhere in this story does it condemn same-sex relations. The point of this story is often overlooked, it was to paint a picture of a sad and sinful state and to insist that this was not God’s doing. God created the good in the world but people misuse creation, so life became hard.

Homosexual youth often go to church/Mosque with family as expected, only to hear the condemnation of them echoed by the entire church. Where is the loving God the church is supposed to be echoing? What love exists in condemning people for who they love? Each youth sits there listening to parents, siblings, friends, and religious leaders tear apart their feelings of love and self esteem, not speaking up out of fear for emotional and often physical safety.

And if you are saying God hates homosexuals, and you consider homosexuals are sinners, then let me inform you that so is God a sinner because God created humans on his own image, humans sin so is God. I’ll give you one small historical evidence for that “The Deluge” When God flooded the entire earth for 40 days and nights, and everyone died sinking except Noah! Does that ring a bell? But who are we to judge God? Who are we to judge homosexuals? For disapproval of different religions of homosexuality, everyone has the freedom to go to hell or not. Let's hope that people will become smarter not only in developing sophisticated methods, producing and operating complex devices, but also in understanding other human beings. It is time to abandon our ancient prejudice about homosexuality and start to think reasonably. Being gay is not a disease, not a curse, not an immoral act, not a preference, but just another type of sexuality. So, instead of burdening ourselves with unnecessary tension by rejecting them, we have to adjust our apprehension, accept them for who there are and treat them fairly. By doing so we will reduce violence, hate crime, stress...
