The Ten Commandments - DUTIES TOWARDS GOD - (1) You shall have no other gods before me (2) You shallnot make for yourself any carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them (3)You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain - DUTIES TOWARDS OURSELVES and NEIGHBOURS - (4) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (5) Honour your father and your mother (6) You shall not murder. (7) You shall not commit adultery. (8)You shall not steal. (9) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour. (10)You shall not covet your neighbor's goods. If we look closely, we'll see that the commandments are based on a simple, positive foundation of love. All of us would rather hear about what we can do rather than what we are forbidden to do. But an honest examination of the Ten Commandments reveals that God's message contains more what "to do" than "not to do" items. The Ten Commandments teach us how to first love God, and then love our neighbor. When God is first in our lives, the rest comes naturally - What these commandments mean to you ? - Why did God gave us them? - How much are you practicing each day from these 10 Commandments? - Do you think that these Commandments are impossible for us to keep track with? share us what you think Thank You ...

First Abousoun,it's a very nice thread
For me,these commandments are something very important in my religion so all of them mean to me...But particulary, the first and the third commandments mean a lot...why?because God is something sacred no on should touch his name or lie and commit wrong things in his name... I think that God gave us these commandments to let us know the right way to live our lives without commiting any sin or live our lives the wrong way...Unfortunately I am not really practicing all these 10 Commandments,it's not on purpose but sometimes I don't go to the church on sunday so am not really practicing the fourth commandment and sometimes i have fights with my parents and maybe i hurt them with my words,so I am also not really practicing the fifth commandment. These commandments are made or are given to us by God to make our life better so we live it far away from sin...They are not here to complicate our life..bel 3akes they make our lives very simple because we know what we have to do...

These 10 Commandments are the law of the land, but i dun think someone, somebody is accomplishing @ least 7/10... If no one lied, stole, killed, dishonored their parents or committed adultery the world we live in would b so much happier, more peaceful n so much easier 2 live in... When u watch the news it’s easy 2 c how disobeying God's commandments destroys the lives of so many... Love is the most important thing cuz God is love... but what about hatred?... in each n every person has a small devil livin' in his heart that may be unleashed someday, somehow for some reasons... that means there's no chance in hell to obey the Law of the land... Basically long story short, I only practice 6 of these Commandments each n every day sometimes 7 sometimes 8 but most of the time are 6... it's impossible to not brake them...
