in lebanon, there is more than 50 political parties , represent all the ideologies , from the left through the middle and the right , some of them are extremist, some others are sectarian , other parties ask for a secular system , and some others don't believe in lebanon as a independent country .
my questions are : is the number of the parties healthy for the political life ? and what about the activities of these parties : are they helping lebanon or on contrary, they are causing problems ? is it a democratic fact that we that huge number of parties ? what do you think about a coalition between the parties that have the same line & views ? |

John your question can be answered from two views: sectarian and
secular. sectarian: - majority of sunni's are with FM - majority of shiites are with amal and hizbullah - majority of druze are with joumblatt for them they dont face any problems the problem is with the christians that are divided into many parts (LF, FPM, Ahrar etc.....) the biggest two parts are LF and FPM eventhough FPM say that they are secular but the majority of supporters are christians. Yes its a problem for christians having all these parties with alltime conflicts. secular: NO, parties dont cause any harm for the country, instead they help improving and progressing. Plus the political parties are the roots for evey regime and system. but not as it is in lebanon. as a conclusion, in both ways, patries nowadays are harming lebanon BUT in all democratic systems parties are a must |

The big number of parties is largely caused by the lack of demacracy in the parties.
Ya3neh in the US the parties have internal votes if you win, ok that's what's gonna be applied, if you loose you support the winner with the party politics. In Lebanon if you disagree with the party you take a bunch of friends and go open another one, and call 7arakat l tajadod aw chi hekeh, that's caused by the unloyal members and the dictator leaders |

anyways, in lebanese we have ideologies "7eber 3a wara2" we have lots of parties claiming that they're secular while they're not... and the same time, these parties are international... like Jumblat's Progressive Socialist Party, it's international, but in Lebanon it's for walid beik and it has nothing to do with socialism... FM's secular while all FMers are Hariri + Sunna = FM... LF's a christian party claiming not to be sectarian while it's the most sectarian ever... FPM's secular but it has a bigger christian base, this ain't a problem... this is due to the lebanese civil war when people got angry from militias... Hezbollah: is the only party working for its ideology and perfecting it...
