While it may not seem important to some people. to others the sharing of religion and belief is important to the success of a marriage ... That is not to suggest that marriages that mix religion do not survive, in fact quite the opposite ...
There are many examples of mixed religion relationships that do quite well. But it takes a strong sense of self and a strong sense of respect for the beliefs of others for such a relationship to not be impacted by worshipping separately ... Also their surrounding plays a big role by being supportive and if not wanting to be supportive at least to respect and understand that kind of commitment they have ... Do we really see that in Lebanon ? in lebanon, iza bil ghalat el chab w el bent ettafa2o ma3 ba3d and their family agreed for a civil marriage ... after a while, they get children w betballish machekil min neiss 2rab w min neiss b3ad ... wlak kif bte2bal wledak yrou7o 3al knisse, lak kif bte2bale ma y3ammid el sabe ... rabbik, rabbak, yel3an el se3a, ma twe5zouna byebye fa bala ma nod7ak 3ala ba3d, in lebanon religion is something essential when someone wants to get married ... If I was living outside lebanon ... i wouldn't care ... bass as long as i'm in lebanon, i'll avoid as much as i can to get involved in such situation ... Thank You ...

The 3 rules are; 1. Acceptance of the girl and the "Mokadam and moakhar" which is a must. 2. Making it public, this a reason of making the wedding. So that other people know.. what we call " Al Ichhar" 3. 2 witness on the contract. So Civil marriage does not contadict muslim marriage for men. Because civil marriage is also a contract b/w the 2. And what most muslim girls dont know is that in their "Katib il Kitab" they can put any condition on their husband in this contract and it will be a binding rule to the man. Anything a woman want from her husband she can include in her "Katib il Kitab" . But in Islam women are not allowed to marry none muslim men unless he becomes a muslim . Religion is the Catalogue that the Creator made for us to make our life easier. So it is not a matter of heaven and hell, it is a matter that by following the rules your life will be easier on this earth before going else where. Hope it clarifies some issues. |

and concerning the witnesses also there is no statement in the Quran to say it's a must ... actually witnesses are a must for the divorce and this is in the quran ... However, Sunnites say it's a must, while Shiite say it's favorable but not obligatory Thank You ...

The solution for this issue is the civil marriage "ekhtiyareh"
Instead of making people go to cyprus to get marry let them make it in lebanon. This is a really silly subject ino come on shou bi2assir iza bissir fi civil marriage? god will get be sad?

I'm against civil mariage,i think that mariage should be under God's law not a judge's law, however i don't care if i marry on the muslim way or the christian way because in both ways the mariage would be under God's law.. so if i loved a girl from another religion and she did then we wanted to marry i have no problem in switching my religion if she have this problem ..

reviving a 2 year old thread here but...
if you're an atheist than you can't marry either? ![]() how does that work? and for me I don't care about marriage, neither civil nor religious. you don't need marriage WHAT IS IT FOR? spending your life with someone and being faithful to that someone has nothing to do with marriage. I do not come home every night to my wife because there is a piece of paper I signed that tells me to do so or because a priest or a cheikh told me to do so. w aslan, marriage is a joke, both christians and muslims now can divroce, just pay the cheikh or the priest w he will smooth things for you with God wizabetlak yeha, so it's totaly a big joke that only costs money if it were up to me, just coliving, live together, have kids, be happy, you don't need to invite everyone you know on the first day you will sleep together, and you don't need a piece of paper that tells you that you should be together, the whole thing is freaken pointless. in fact I believe coliving is better in a relationship than marriage, because you can break it up into steps, first step move in together without sleeping together, perhaps you don't like living with your partner he has some bad habbits(drinking and such) you didn't know about then you can back out of it before any damage was done, unlike marriage where you get to discover all the bad stuff at once and it is too late after a few month of that you can move on to the next stage like sleeping in the same room, and after that you consider kids and go have some legal paper signed that says if I die my wife gets everything and you give her and the kids your last name. that makes way way way more sense and logic than the idea of marriage I think if there is a God, he would care more about you 2 loving each other and respecting each other and being totaly faithful more than he would care about what the marriage ceremony itself looks like. and there are many married people who cheat on each other so no one give me the "if they are not married by God ra7 y5ouno ba3ed" cheating and faithfulness has nothing to do with God or the marriage it has to do with respecting your life partner edit: I would an agree on a marriage if it had the form of a contract, in fact there should be a contract. a well written contract where both agree that in case they split up, who gets what, and who gets the children. and that should be included in a marriage otherwise I don't see the use of the marriage

as mr_j said, it has been 2 years for this thread and its a long time for some people to change their opinions and beliefs.
Basically, some people would choose religion over love or vice versa. my case is love over religion. I would marry someone not only from another religion, but from another country, culture and race. As they say "love conquers all". Things would not be easy but life never was easy from its beginning; if ur love for each other was strong then u could weather the storms together. Only and i re-state ONLY if BOTH OF THEM think and feel that LOVE is over RELIGION. or else, 2id wehde ma betza22if. for those who choose Religion over love, are u willing to risk regretting letting go of someone cuz u are not willing to accept his/her faith??

Love Love Love....
Love is above everthing for me I've been taught that love comes before everything else.... I am ready to leave everything for the one i love because i will be happy then What if you'll never found the right person who belongs to the same religion?
