صباح 19 كانون الثاني دعا الشيخ حسن خالد، كمال بك الى اجتماع عاجل للزعماء المسلمين عقد بمبادرة من رشيد كرامي في دار قريبه الوزير السابق مالك سلام . وبعد بحث في الموقف العسكري والسياسي طوال أربع ساعات تقريباً، توجه المشاركون في القمة الاسلامية هذه، الى الرئيس حافظ الأسد مجدداً طالبين اتخاذ تدابير عاجلة للحيلولة دون هجوم المليشيات المسيحية على بيروت الغربية
قرر السورريون هذه المرة أن يتحركوا دون ابطاء. فبأمر من الرئيس الأسد اجتازت الحدود السورية - اللبنانية قوات لواء اليرموك الفلسطيني ووحدات من لواءي حطين والقادسية التابعين لجيش التحرير الفلسطيني، واستولت على قسم كبير من وادي البقاع وطريق بيروت الشام الاستراتجية. وتحركت في الوقت ذاته فصائل الصاعقة وجيش التحرير الفلسطيني في أتجاه زغرتا، واشتبكت هناك مع فصائل المردة المحلية وجنود الجيش اللبناني

وفي ساعة متقدمة من مساء 19 كانون الثاني 1976 توجه الى دمشق وفد من الحركة الوطنية برئاسة كمال جنبلاط . وأمضى الوفد ساعات الليل في محادثات مكثفة مع عبد الحليم خدام في مبنى وزارة الخارجية السورية، وصباح اليوم التالي دعي الوفد الى منزل الرئيس الأسد، فاطلع جنبلاط الرئيس السوري على الموقف في لبنان واعترف صراحة بأنه لن يتمكن هذه المرة من العمل دون تدخل فعال من جانب دمشق :" بكل عزيز يا سيادة الرئيس نناشدك التدخل لوقف هذه الحرب. لم نعد نسطيع الاحتمال . الدم كثير والوضع خطير" ووعد الرئيس الأسد بالمساعدة الخ الخ

There were many islamic leaders and many christians leaders that ask syria to reach the Lebanese land.

But we should all know that they did not enter under any invitation.

that's true, but they invited them to stay in lebanon for 30 years,
some leaderships (the actual independance leaders) didn't believ in a free lebanon, and what they cared about is their own interrests,
they invited the syrians to invade the free regions of lebanon on 1990,
they were the same ppl who rule the country now.
who have a dirty history like this, will have the same dirty future

This is what Kamal Jumblat said in his Memoires, you can't say that those ppl did't invite Syria to come in, that time, they begged her also as was descibed in the mentioned book.(this book is distributed by walid jumblat himself)
Nobody talking about moslems or christians, there are facts you can't denie them, since the concerned ppl admited it.

What i'm saying is that SYRIA did not enter because it was invited.

They enter LEBANON to occupy it.
