German Tourist: Materazzi Hurt My Son

Inter defender Marco Materazzi is due in court after being accused of mishandling a German tourist's son.






The events allegedly took place at an Inter training camp in Cagliari after the World Cup winner’s own son, Gianmarco, got into an altercation with a German youngster.
Materazzi is due to appear before a tribunal to offer his version of events. The ex-Perugia centre-back claims that he merely gave the German youngster a ticking off after the boy hit his son. Materazzi is believed to have witnesses to support his theory.
Materazzi is not new to controversy. In the 2006 World Cup Final in Berlin he was infamously head-butted by Zinedine Zidane after verbally abusing the Frenchman’s mother. The 34-year-old has also received numerous red cards during his career.
Materazzi has not played for Inter since picking up a freak injury during Italy’s friendly with Hungary in August. He is not due to return to action until December.
Matrix’s commanding presence was sorely missed by his club side on Wednesday as they crashed to a convincing 1-0 defeat by Fenerbahce in the Champions League.
