The comparaision per se isn't fair coz these two players don't play the same position ...
but just for the sake of comparaision Maradona was more skillful than Pele, however Pele has a natural scoring instinct

Maradona proved himself in the major leagues, however Pele only Played in brazil and America which are considered inferior leagues as compared to the european leagues ...

Pele kept his image clean and is considered as a sport icon, while Maradona failed to do that ..

eno as a football player i like to watch Maradona more than pele but as a person i prefer Pele

and a final thought to get attacked on

argentinians and brazilians suck and germany rules

he's known to be the best, but always the rewards given by magazines and other associations to pele as the greatest player of the past century.
pele was a nightmare for all the goalkeepers, but maradona was a nightmare for any player who goes with him in a 1-on-1 situation, or 1-on-2... and he can even dribble through all the pitch, and score, for sure u've seen the greatest goal in world cup's history.
maradona had a weak Argentinian squad with him, while the brazilian squad of 1970 is considered the strongest brazilian squad ever.

No doubt it's maradona

...maradona was the opposite team nightmare,he could play as a midfielder and as a striker,though he skills aren't that better than pele's
