Default Should Michel Sleiman resign ??

Everyone knows that President Michel Sleiman was elected as a consensual president, which means that he should be at the same distance from all the Lebanese parties.

Now, it seems that Michel Sleiman wants to have his own parliamentary bloc, and the candidates of this bloc are mainly running against General Aoun and allying themselves to some 14 of March figures, and their attacks are mainly against FPM and General Aoun, which means that Sleiman is no longer a consensual president because he took a certain side and adopted a certain political view.

Do you think that Michel Sleiman should resign if he decided to take a certain side and having candidates in the parliamentary elections ?

BEIRUT: Lebanese politicians came to the defense of President Michel Sleiman on Monday after he was accused of interfering in the country's upcoming parliamentary elections.

Well-informed sources told the Central News Agency (CNA) on Monday that Sleiman had not assigned a committee to hold negotiations with candidates over the elections on his behalf.

Other ministerial sources told the CNA that Sleiman was "very upset by the remarks targeting him," adding that such claims were aimed at maintaining a state of tension until after the June 7 elections.

The remarks came as a response to earlier statements made by former Minister Sleiman Franjieh, who had accused Sleiman of interfering in the polls and appointing a committee to negotiate parliamentary seats on his behalf.

During an interview with Al-Jadeed television late Sunday, Franjieh said Sleiman sent the director general of the General Security Major General Wafik Jezzini to meet with him in an effort to obtain a share in Kesrouan, Jbeil and Metn districts. Franjieh said Jezzini named candidates Bon, Michel Murr, Neemat Efram, Francois Bassil and Nazem Khoury as the president's share. "We want the president to be a [real] president. Otherwise, how will we stand by him?" Franjieh asked. "We won't demand the resignation of the president. However, we will not let [Sleiman] impose anything on us."

I don't think that GMS want to have his own parliamentary bloc, and even if he has it, that should not concern FPM, because they should have trust in thier popularity... I don't know much about the elections system and the fact that the president having a parliamentary bloc would affect FPM...
anyway, GMS will not be that bad so we demand his resignation

Resign? Of course not...

Sleiman's perfect, he's useless. We need someone to be a custodian to the presidency till one of the parties is able to bring their own.

We just need to keep an eye on him and make sure the public knows what he's up to. We agreed to get him to avoid the worst, not so he can use his position to get power he did not work for.

I believe Sleiman Beik demonstrated the perfect way of keeping the president from pulling wool over our eyes: expose him to the public.

This president is a safer bet than any other, so, all we need to do is work a little harder and make sure he stays in line.

if Fpm and the opposition ask for the president's resignistion now it won't be in their favor but if they keep him (hek hek ma elo 3aze m2adiya safar w kazdara) it won't take alot of time till the people find out what he really is w that he is "men ta7et la ta7et ma3 el ze3ran" .
