This can be understood in many ways, maybe infinite number of ways which makes it impossible to simply assert that the statement is either valid or not...

First of all, there is no universal and agreed on way to measure success. It is an old philosophical question. How do you measure success? By dollars? By happiness and satisfaction? By offspring? By achievement of religious duties? The definition of success changes from a person to another and from a time to another...

Even if you agree on one notion of success, this statement can still mean that either success is impossible without experience which is not true. Many examples in history show you that a lot of people through creativity and not experience got to be successful. Others got successful through their courage and bold moves.

The other way to interpret it might be that success is a natural consequence of experience. That is also not true. Everyone has a lot of experience at least in one thing right? Clearly not everyone is successful...

This is partially very true. Once you are experienced in a certain field you become the king there, you know everything. So logically you are bound to succeed.

BAS on the other side i do believe in luck: some people happen to be very lucky and success just follows them around.

In conclusion experience is very necessairy for someone to succeed but luck can also play a major role...

I think this quote was appropriate for the discussion:

“My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement – success will follow.”
