One disasterous problem in lebanon is the air pollution. It has serious consequences, not only for the environment, but for people's well-being.
The smokestacks of industries emit to the atmosphere many harmful gases. Vehicles use petroleum and release carbon monoxide to the air. Carbon monoxide reacts with the hemoglobyn of the blood and it prohibits o2 from reaching to all body cells. This leads to suffocation and then death. Trees absorb co2, release o2, thus cleaning the atmospheric air. But human beings cut down trees in order to obtain lumber and space. Without trees, the co2 increases. Human beings use lumber for combustion, combustion releases co2. Co2 reacts with the water vapor in the air and results with acid rain. Acid rain may have harmful effects on animal and plant life in terrestrial and aquatic mediums, it may also have destructive effects on agriculture. The increase of co2 leads to global warming - the greehouse effect, which increases the world's temperature. In order to help in reducing air pollution, the least we could do is : use public transportation, campaign against deforestation, remove sulfur from fuel, or use low-sulfure content and unleaded fuel. We could also use alternate energy sources such as direct solar energy. If people don't contribute in reducing air pollution, then it will become worse and it will cause even more health problems and hazzards.

yeah u got a point bass u can't be happy by leaving the country when others are getting their asses whipped by their own government...
every1 is soooooo selfish by helping & Filling HIS OWN NEEDS...and forgetting about others....forgetting about the future.... u ain't gonna find any country like ours ...

and no1 is obliging the ppl here to actually stay here.. i don't like the situation here so i'm leaving... and even if i stay here, i can't do anything to change the way it is here. I'm just wasting my time by knowing i'd live a better life in another country.

I agree with RockGurl leaving our country doesnt mean we dont love it.
the fact of leaving the country for a better life in a country where u give and get in return unlike our beloved country. it's true that we all love lebanon but we cannot deny that we're kinda prisoners in this country where we pay and pay and barely get something to live with. so having the apportunity to leave the country is good of course but not staying out for good. lebanon is not a country of work it's a country of vacations. going back to our main subject which is pollution i think it's not only a governmental problem but also it's related to education of lebanese who still throw garbage from cars windows for example. it's a bit complicated but i think the new generation is more awake about such problems than our parents...
