Debates Forum.

Hello there, I got this idea for the forum,

how about we open a forum dedicated for debates? It can be organized in a very interesting way.

For example, we would open threads for debates between only 2 people[voted for, or chosen by us], each person from a different point of view, and we would give every member a number of days to reply.

Ye3neh, mnefta7 mawdou3 3an religious theory for example, and the members would vote for who would they like to represent them. The thread starts[by a moderator] where all the details about the debates are posted[members debating, topic, etc.], the member who wants to post his theory would start with a detailed post, the other is given an amount of time [couple of days, week, I don't know] and it does on until a member would not post before the time given, or he decides to quit or anything.

In my opinion, it's a good activity for the forum, it would bring members together, and the debates atmosphere back again. In addition.

It'll be fun.

It is a good and bad idea at the same time

it is a good idea, what you have stated above are the examples.

it is a bad idea for the below reasons:

- This member may not know much as another member does regarding the same point of view. Who has the right to say that this member is better than the one voting for him concerning interpretation on the religion subject for e.g.? I give another e.g: I love music and I'm good at it, and i can represent all good listeners towards Rap or Soft music against a Metal Fan or Trance Fan. But perhaps a new member will register during the time that I am debating the others with and he might have better knowledge than I am, or he might have a point of view that i disregard or did not notice.

It is a very good activity for what u have said. but I personally think that all threads that has to do with debate, must be posted in the lobby as it is now. or else the lobby will be like: Chit Chat forum. If you have seen threads about Religion/Music/Politcal Affiliation debates. You will notice that each member has different looks on the same subject that we are discussing and each have better convicting posts than others. So i think sticking for what we have is good. But i would not say no for a change, let's try and see

Now all debates has to be Head to Head debates.

The 1vs1 debates can be made as challenges.

Well, the thing is that lately, the forum has been lacking debate threads that makes the forum very fun, and interesting. We should get the debate atmosphere back.

we have a debate forum for debates only
we allow all members to post, we might have a poll focusing on 2 main debaters and who's views do you agree most with, but we have to let anyone post, we need to encourage people to register and speak their minds.
anyway, given the current postign activity, I think most debates will consist of 2 people anyway
