Post Overclocking, its interesting!

first of all, i'm not an expert, not even half one, but what is writen below
is written by kingroudy from the vcoderz community!
Reading this will take you 5 minutes but you will learn many things.
overclocking (ocing) is running your cpu at a higher clock (measured in ghz )
you should know that the cpu clock (aka speed) =fsb*multiplier
fsb is the front side bus of your cpu it is for example 133mhz oror even
200mhz for P4.
the multiplier is normally a number that is between 4 and 20(could be
higher).
to oc (overclock) your cpu you should raise one of them, or both!!!
BUT (big but), this is not that simple, your cpu is not something magic, it
has limits, the first thing that will happen is that the temperature of your
system will be higher, it could burn, so something good is to install a bigger
fan or additional fan(s), to go more advanced, you can cool your system
with water, to go extreme, you can (or extreme geeks can) cool with liquid
nitrogen(N2O)!!!.
if you overclock a little, i.e. from 2.4 to 2.5ghz (and this is what my
crazy friend did, once i told him that there is something called oc!)
your cpu should be stable, and you might notice a performance difference
specially in demanding games.
but if you want to go higher, you should raise the voltage of your cpu a
bit, and this is where the temperature problem will be very very serious.
also, them RAM has something to do with this, their clock will change
because of this equation:
ddr-ram speed(mhz)=(fsb/d1)*d2*2
d1 and d2 can be found from the bios(dont care, this is very complicated)
the "2" comes from the type of the memory "DDR" or dual data rate.
for single data rate, remove that 2. for ddr running on dual channel
(i.e 2*256mb, two sticks of rams on a motherboard that supports dual
channel memory) add another "2" to the equation to get:
ram speed=(fsb/d1)*d2*4.
So, if you raise the fsb, the ram clock speed will raise, and same as the
cpu, their voltage should be hightened.(my crazy friend oced his 2.4ghz p4
to 2.6,without changing the voltage of the cpu, the system did not start
until he changed the ram voltage from normal to high, and then he got
stability problems,so he restored everything back to normal).
now lets talk about stability, your system will be instable if you overclock
randomly, you should make sure that everything is stable, this can be found
out with many softwares and one of them is prime 95.(view the bottom of
the article).once the cpu is stable for a period of 1 or 2 days of torture
test, u can rest and enjoy, otherwise, you will face problems (with s).
these days both AMD and intel are producing ocable cpus, the example i
gave about my friend is nothing, some cpus can be oced from 1.8 to
3.0ghz and i've seen a p4 running on 6ghz!!
furthermore, most of the cpus has the multiplier locked, but this is not
the case of the intel core 2 extreme x6800 and qx6700, the multipliers
are unlocked, ocers can do extreme ocing to these cpus.
note:the cpu multiplier can be unlucked by removing the jumpers found in
some motherboards.
note that some pc assemblers are selling pcs with oced cpu!! with water
cooling, for something like 4000$ for a pc!!!
your big question is from WHERE do we overclock, it is from the BIOS
(press f2 or del or f8 depending on the motherboard), but do not be so
happy, most of the motherboards in lebanon does not allow you to do
something, some of them only allows to raise the fsb only...
and let me tell you something, i posted this to give you an idea, do NOT
overclock unless u know that you might damage your pc, break the warranty
and you will lose.
be sure to read the attached file (txt) and view the explanations on the
pictures.
feel free to ask any question.
here are some links

thanks for your reading.
please reply, comment, ask, its good to know.
kind regards.

Great tip man!!
i just knew why my system wasn't working when i over clocked my CPU to the MAX.
I do have a weak system:
AMD Duron 1.8 Ghz , 256 MB Ram
i use it to the max it's working fine but of course it's weak comparing to other new systems.

NOW THIS IS WHAT WE CALL EXTREME!!!!!! this is how n2o works to cool a highly oced system.

BTW, i said and i repeat, i dont dare to oc, you guys, dont even think about it!
