Concerning the 2nd question about "Do you think 18 year olds can live on their own and be responsible enough?" well I think it pretty much depends on the maturity level of the young person and the comfort level of the parents.
Some adolescents are truly ready to live on their own between ages 16 and 18; others are not ready at age 25 or 27. Some are straining to get out on their own as soon as possible; others have to be pushed out. For me, i don't mind moving out, for any person BUT we should ate least ask ourself some question that might help us deciding if it's correct or not... ![]() for exemple ![]() *Do they have a plan for living independently? *Are they capable of handling the kinds of issues and problems of independent living that will be important (for instance, can they pay their bills, go to work or school, sustain a job, maintain a checking account, etc.)? *Are they capable of supporting themselves?

it's a very good idea that at the age of 18 the person move out....i wish the economical situation in lebanon is better so if i worked i could have enough money to move out at the age of 18....the person will have more confidence and experience in real life but i don't think that here in lebanon the person could move out !

I am for moving out but age can't be the only criteria to judge the readiness for the person to move out or not...
That said, living with ur parents has some advantages..."some"....while the disadvantages are massive... Peace

Precisely, you can't compare Lebanon to the western countries when it comes to this issue. In western countries the states provides a lot of help, such as housing allowances, in Lebanon you are dependent on your family if you get in trouble.
Am I for or against moving out? I'm against, when I see the relationship between parents and children here in Europe I kind of feel sorry for them, some of the parents can't wait for their children to move out, and the children can't wait to move out because they simply can't stan thir parents. Seems really sad to me... |
