^^ in 2008 1/4 finals second leg, lahm was rarely beaten bi Lionel Messi...and Lahm used to be the 2nd best RB in the world after Maicon but now he is the 1 RB follow by Alves..I think lahm/alves would slow bale and even nullify him because the two have amazing pace and great tackling abilities while maicon lacked pace yesterday..

Man Utd's Rafael got into the team of the week this past one cz he got Bale caged with his defence, only cz he's fast and he made some good tackles, that's all that's needed against Bale, speed! Maicon has lost that, he's simply old now to occupy such a fast position, he has to attack and quickly go back to D, so u need quickness and Bale just beat him over and over with that..
Number 1 RB now? gotta say it's a tie between Alves and Lahm

a combination between lahm's all round defensive abilities including his tacklings with the dribling/shooting ability of Alves would create an 80 million euro player.
