Barcelona have officially announced the signing of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas on a five-year deal that could be worth €39 million. The Catalans will pay an initial guaranteed fee of €29m for the midfielder, with another €5m dependent on the number of trophies won during his time at Camp Nou, and a further €5m is to be paid by the player himself from his salary.

The Catalans had been chasing their former youth team midfielder for three summers and finally agreed a deal to sign the 24-year-old on Monday following weeks of arduous negotiations with the north London outfit.

Both clubs already announced on Sunday evening that they had reached an agreement in principle over the transfer and Fabregas has now agreed personal terms and completed his medical.

Barca announced the deal on their official website, saying: "Cesc has signed a contract that will keep him with Barcelona until 2016. He has a limited fee release clause of €200m."

Speaking at his unveiling at Camp Nou, Fabregas said: "I have waited many years for this moment to come. It is a very special day for me. I come back home after eight years, and this is the biggest challenge of my life, but I know that with your help, I will prevail."

On Friday, defenders Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique had welcomed their friend and international team-mate to the Catalan club on Twitter.

Pique had claimed that "today will be a great day" and later all but confirmed the deal as he tweeted: "We now have him here".

Puyol then showed his delight at the prospective move as he wrote: "Welcome home!!! Happy to have you here @cesc4official".

اكد وكيل الأعمال الأرجنتيني خوسية البرتي المقرب من نادي انتر ميلان الأيطالي ان صفقة انتقال اللاعب الهولندي ويسلي شنايدر الى مانشستر يونايتد لازالت تسير على قدم وساق. واشار البرتي الى انه جرى الحديث عن تخفيض راتب الهولندي الدولي الى ما دون ال200 الف باوند.
واعتبر البرتي ان خروج شنايدر من الانتر بات محسوماً، مشيراً الى امكانية انتقاله الى مانشستر يونايتد. واضاف البرتي انه اذا توجه شنايدر الى انكلترا فلن يكون الا الى اليونايتد.

اشارت صحيفة اللاغازيتا ديلو سبورت أن صفقة انتقال النجم الكاميروني صامويل إيتو إلى نادي إنجي الروسي قد تعثرت وتم إيقافها مؤقتاً .

Fiorentina reject an AC Milan bid for Riccardo Montolivo as Bayern Munich wait in the wings

Fiorentina director of football Pantaleo Corvino has admitted that the club have rejected an offer from AC Milan for Riccardo Montolivo.

The side from the Stadio Artemio Franchi have said the Italy international will not be sold to a domestic rival, and a bid from the 2010-11 Scudetto winners has been knocked back.

"I had a proposal [from Milan] for Montolivo through his agent, but [it] was so indecent that I immediately returned it to the sender," the executive confirmed to Corriere dello Sport.

"It was an exchange between my player and half of the ownership of (Rodney) Strasser and (Alberto) Paloschi," he continued.

The former Atalanta man's contract expires in June 2012, and his current employers face a dilemma whether to sell him or risk losing their star player on a free transfer next summer.

Corriere dello Sport also detail that German side Bayern Munich have been alerted to Fiorentina's decision not to sell to another Italian team, and are weighing up a €10 million bid for the 26-year-old.
