The ones that do that are hypocrits. Not because they finally believed in God, i dont have hold anything against God. They are hypocrits because they dont stand towards what they believe in. Eno whats the point of believing in something ur whole life and denying it the second ur passing away, i just cant comprehend that, its like someones whole life becomes a lie. It doesnt matter if they do believe in God or they dont; the important thing is that they live according to the values that they believe in and respect there impact on their life, either that or they are living a lie.

Dude,you don't get my point...Take this story:

A person comes up to you and tells you there is a huge unicorn who lives on the top of a mountain. The unicorn is invisible. Although it is invisible, the person tells you that the unicorn is pink and will kill you with his horn if you don't do so-and-so. He gives no further evidence.

Compare with this:

A person comes up to you and tells you there is a "god" who created everything including you. That "god" not only is invisible but also created organisms so that they would like the had no designer (evolution) and the cosmos the same way. He says the nature of this "god" cannot be comprehended by man yet he tells you too that "god" is omniscient,omnipotent, and omnipresent. He gives no further evidence.

Can you prove 100% that the Unicorn from the first example doesn't exist? After all there is a 1% possibility that he does,maybe you should do what he told you or you will be killed by his pink horn.

Basically,I see the second story as the same yet a bit more complicated. But a simple look at the Gods of Egypt (Horus,Seth....) and those of Greece (Apollo, Poseidon,Zeus... ) will show you that religions and the concept of "god" evolved with time from being as stupid as the pink invisible unicorn to being what 74% of people around the world believe in today. The core belief stays the same though, stop trying to reason with it. You believe in God based on faith not reason.

Well after all it is not that bad to say you were mistaken if you find out that you actually were so. But the funny thing is that throughout history,only one atheist philosopher stopped being an atheist when he reached 81. Antony Flew, who by the way became a deist not a theist. Aurora said "many", I wonder if she can back up that with some sources. On the other hand, check what Mother Theresa wrote in her diary about her doubt in the existence of God and her inability to believe what she is preaching to the people.
