A stupid painting made few years ago waged protests all over the globe.

I havent heard of any insult , it shows his story from a different point of view , that he was not crossed , theyr not saying he was a rapist or a drunk , theyr showing a different story , thats all . and yes it completely political.

You guys don't get it. I was not trying to defend the Christians' point of you as much as trying to show how stupid it was to make such a movie.

Remember I'm an Atheist, and I don't believe in any religious bullshit.
It's just that, promoting such a story about a religious figure, that most of the people on the planet know something different of, is an insult to their intelligence (Not that I don't believe that religious itself is the major insult in the first place). When you tell people that what they believe in is totally wrong, they tend to react by protesting, whether you insulted their religious figure or not.

Religious stories have been passed over generations for too long, and many "faulty" stories about Mohammad were passed along too, such as him suffering from Epilepsy .

No one can prove any of those right, nor wrong.
Now, for those who asked for what stories are "known", I'm not saying that those are true facts about the Prophet, I just asked for the Muslims' reaction, and it was clear that most of you focused on that point and totally forgot my point of the post.

Again, if you don't accept other people's point of you about your religion, don't promote stories about their's.

Your religious belief was not put into question in any of the replies. Your post was, meaning the way you addressed the matter and the other members. Had you addressed the matter respectfully you wouldn't have gotten any replies such as the one we made.

And as said in moqawem's post. The vatican itself agreed to the movie the series was based on and praised the way it showed the differences between the Islamic and Christian versions.

Furthermore the series was not about telling christians that they're wrong. It was about showing the life of Jesus Christ from the Islamic point of view, as said in the Koran. Which is why the director released his statement. I mean seriously...it's based on the barnabas bible which is not adopted by the church and yet the Vatican praises it and has nothing to say about it???

Focused on that point?? Well it's also clear that we replied to your post. But when you address what we hold as sacred in such a disrespectful manner it's only normal that you get such a reaction and that we focus on that point.

And again, you should have read Moqawem's post before replying to it.
The life and message of Jesus Christ is also an integral part of our religion. These are not "stories" to us. Nor do they contain any offense to the Christian image of Jesus.
If the church was fine with it and considered it and praised it as a good means of showing the difference between the Islamic and Christian versions, then one may wonder why the Lebanese priests were the ones who protested, especially when it was used politically.

Differences are acceptable but respect is a must.
