ذكرت صحيفة " The Guradian " البريطانية صباح اليوم أن ملاك نادي ليفربول بدأ يفقدوا صبرهم على المدير الفني للفريق روي هودسون بعد الهزيمة الآخيرة التي تعرض لها الفريق على يد ولفرهامبتون بجانب انهيار العلاقة بين هودسون وبين أنصار النادي الذين أطلقوا صافرات الإستهجان ضده وطالبوا بإقالته. كانت نتائج استطلاع رأي قد كشف مؤخرًا أن شعبية هودسون هي في أدنى مستوى على الإطلاق منذ توليه مسؤولية تدريب الفريق مطلع هذا الموسم، حيث صوت غالبية القراء أن الهولندي فرانك ريكارد سيكون البديل المثالي بعد هودسون. وذكرت التقارير إلى أن الأميركان جون هنري جورج وتوم فيرنر مُلاك النادي وعلى الرغم من تصريحاتهم التي تؤكد تمسكهم بروي هودسون (63 عامًا)، إلا أن أنهم قد يُقررون إقالته إستجابة لرغبة مشجعي النادي. ويعيش ليفربول أحد اسوأ فتراته في تاريخه في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، حيث يحتل المركز الـ12 برصيد 22 نقطة ويواجه خطر الهبوط حيث يَبتعد عن ذيل الترتيب بـ4 نقاط فقط.
