I agree with sarah about this issue, children should be kept away from all this. in such age they should be learning the basics of everything away from all kind of ideologies.
Justin, if your enemy is wrong it doesn't mean you should be the same to be equal those kids have their whole life later to choose what they want and defend their land their own way but believe me this way is not the good one!

HE LIVES IN DA7YE w ma hadan bi arrib sawbo w huwe ma bi arrib sob hadan... during that war, he was at his grandma's house... while his whole family was underground bi their homes... the bldg was destroyed.. he lost his mother, father, big brother & baby sister... he has nuth left but his grandmother... u wanna tell me that this guy FOR E.G. can keep this hatred inside of him? hayde ghassa bi kel 7ayeto.. he wanted 2 suicide i swear... then he had some second thoughts & wanted to join Hizbollah & they refused not becuz he is christian w not as a reason of being LFer... they told him.. go build ur future outside & we can support u with money & home.. live ur life... he refused & wanted to suicide... so they accepted him after one week... & after the war... he has nuth but REVENGE in his heart.. I swear that sometimes he comes to cry of the way he saw his parents bodies... how could u want him to live his life if he lost that family...

Justin you're dragging the subject away, this is not my point.
I don't ignore that people have hatred toward the israeli especially after the last war but the point is that those kids should live their lives and later on they can choose the way to defend their country but in such age let them live their lives instead of doing military shows...
children can be raised first of loving the country that can be improved later to have their own way to defend it and work for it.
As for your friend he's not 8 - 9 years old and he's old enough to choose what to do but if the same thing happened to a child of 9 years old you won't send him to fight on the front but find him a house or a place to raise him until he grows up and be an active and producer individual in the Lebanese society and be a part of the rebuilding and the Liberation process.

You are blaming the victims for losing their innocence.
In deed they lost their innocence because they face violence and brutality. To them these weapons is self defense and a proof of their existence.

How do you think any resistence flourishes. It is a simple reaction to oppression. You cany blame the victims for defending themselves.
You can't blame a child who lost all his dear one to ask for vengeance.
this is human nature. Instead of jusging them, put yourlself at their places and shred a tear on their misery.

I think what koukiazzzz have just said is the most reasonable reply, most are talking as if we are living in switzerland ... the lebanese kids, the palestinians kids, the iraqi kids, ... are being born on the sounds of their family crying, on the sight of their brothers getting killed ... on the image of their home being destroyed ...

ask any small kid in this parade who is you hero, ... most children will answer superman, spiderman, batman .... while these children will answer "el mouqawim" is my hero ... do you think they are getting manipulated ? do you think they are forced to have such belief ?
