Samir Nasri: I don't know if I will sign a new contract with Arsenal & I want to see if Manchester United's interest is real

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has cast even more doubt over his future at the Emirates club after claiming he is unsure whether he will sign a new deal or not - and saying he wants to learn more about Manchester United's supposed interest in him.

Nasri, like Gael Clichy, has been given until July to sign a new contract with the club or be sold, with both players’ current contracts running out next summer.

Wenger’s stance comes as he is unprepared to let Nasri leave for free next summer, a situation that would become reality should he not sign a contract. Therefore the club will sell him should he refuse the offer.

Nasri’s recent quotes have hardly given Arsenal fans reason to be optimistic as he was not very reassuring in terms of whether he wanted to sign a new deal, instead heightening speculation about his future.

However, the France international has refused to be drawn too much on the matter at the moment, rather deciding that talks will continue after France’s up-coming matches against Ukraine (on Monday) and Poland (Thursday).

"I don’t know if I will sign a new contract,” he told TF1’s Telefoot. “Anyway, the discussions are ongoing. For the moment, I don't think about this. We will speak about it after the match with Poland."

One possible destination for the former Marseille man is Old Trafford after Red Devils and France left-back Patrice Evra told Nasri to join him at United in order to fulfil his potential.

Despite Evra’s comments, Wenger told French radio just days later that he wouldn’t sell Nasri to United, but Nasri was nowhere near as blunt, insisting he’d like to know if the interest is genuine: “Initially, we should see if it's real and if it is concrete."

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole set for Tottenham medical ahead £3m transfer - report

Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is all set to join Tottenham next week following a dreadful year-long spell at Anfield.

Cole joined the Reds for free last summer as he looked to kick-start his career after enduring a poor final season at Chelsea following several months out through injury.

His luck wasn’t much better at Liverpool as injuries again ravaged his season, preventing him from gaining any real momentum or consistency, and when he did play, he couldn’t find any sort of form.

Although he cost the club nothing in transfer fees, Cole ended up being an expensive signing, with Liverpool paying more than £4 million in wages on a contract worth £90,000 a week to the West Ham academy graduate.

However, The Daily Mail believe that this period of his career is about to come to an end. They understand Cole will undergo a medical at Spurs this coming week ahead of £3 million move to White Hart Lane as he looks to complete a full pre-season for the first time in three years.

Cole’s Liverpool career took a blow when the man who ensured the transfer happened, Christian Purslow, lost his job in the wake of John Henry's purchase of the Anfield club last year.

Henry is understood to have been bemused as to why an ageing player was given a contract so lucrative, and of four years' duration, as he hoped to concentrate on youth.

Over the course of the season, Cole played 20 times in the league, scoring just twice and grabbing only one assist, a record on a par with his form in the Europa League where he played in 12 matches, scoring once.

Should the move to Spurs materialise, it could allow Luka Modric to leave for Manchester United as the Premier League champions look for a player to replace Paul Scholes after the former England international retired from football.

It is understood that Spurs plan to offload Alan Hutton, Robbie Keane, David Bentley, Wilson Palacios, Sebastien Bassong and Giovani Dos Santos over the summer, with Palacios attracting attention from Napoli and Sevilla, whilst Dos Santos has also been linked with the Spaniards.

Benfica to take disciplinary action against Fabio Coentrao and ponder complaint to Fifa over conduct of Real Madrid

Benfica will take action against Fabio Coentrao after he spoke highly of Real Madrid in an interview without the club's permission. The Portuguese outfit are also pondering launching an official complaint to Fifa over the Blancos' conduct in trying to lure the 23-year-old to Spain, according to news agency Lusa.

Coentrao once again revealed his desire to play for Real Madrid to AS.com on Tuesday. And his interview with the Spanish paper appears to have annoyed his current club.

Radio Renascenca claims that Coentrao breached strict rules within the club as he is alleged to have spoken to the media without having permission from Benfica.

If he is found to have broken the club's stance over media relations then he could face a fine or have his wages docked.

Benfica are now weighing up the possibility of launching a formal complaint against Real Madrid for the "improper and unauthorised harassment of Fabio Coentrao," a source close to the situation told Lusa.

On Monday, Benfica released a statement in which they denied an accord with Madrid, but they reminded clubs interested in their player that the release clause is €30 million.

The Portugal international has long been linked with Jose Mourinho and he has, on several occasions, reiterated his desire to play for the Blancos.

Klose has signed a deal with Lazio as it seems.
And Manchester United has got a hold of the promising 19 yr old Phil Jones for about 16M. With Smalling and Jones as future CBs, United have one of the most dominant force back there to look out for in the future

Man United always had the best defense, I was never worried about this, its the midfield that we should work on

true bas Jones is AMAZING! United got him just from under the noses of Liverpool/Arsenal/Chelsea/Tottenham. Ancelotti compared him to Terry, Redknapp compared him to Rio, while as Wenger and Dalglish said he's the missing piece to their puzzle! He was rated at 10M cz he's only 19 years old, but because of all this interest the price went up to 16!
As for midfield and attack, United's current youth squad have won the title twice, more than the class of 92! Youtube the likes of Paul Pogba, Morrison, and Keane, u'll find amazing talent there, ppl are already demanding to see them in 1st action, w I think Sir Alex ra7 yjib talent this summer cz fallo Scholes w Hargreaves w next year Giggs, so...as long as Sir Alex's staff is in charge then I woudn't worry much!

Reported Manchester United target Samir Nasri tells Arsenal fans: 'I will let you know if I'm staying or going'

Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri has told fans to ignore speculation linking him with a move away from the Emirates and insisted he will let them know any decision he makes regarding his future.

Nasri refused to rule out a move to Manchester United earlier in the week having claimed that he is not sure if he will sign a new deal with the Gunners but has now told supporters to ignore any rumours they read in the press,

"I just want tell you don’t listen [to] the newspaper and the rumours I will let you know if something happens," the Frenchman said on his official Twitter page.

The 23-year-old was a key member of the Gunners first-team last season and Arsene Wenger has previously confirmed that the north London club are in discussions to extend his deal, which expires in 12 months' time.

Young seems like a close signing.

Sneijder has stated that he loves Milan as a city and that he feels there's a family atmosphere at Inter so he intends to stay there for as long as possible.

Modric as said by Redknapp, is in NO WAY leaving cause Tottenham is built around him! so that's a no for him.

Nasri seems the closest to come w for me, he's the most creative of the bunch ma3 enno Modric w Sneijder have the more calm effect, w to think enno an Arsenal star could come to United is just weird! ka2an it won't happen

So United are kinda low on Central Mid-fielders/Central Attacking Mid-Fielders [Young can play as a Central Attacking Mid-Fielder bas we need an authentic one, not a Winger playing there] options here..anyways dunno, we'll see!
