I am not saying that we are Phoenicians because some Arabic words has Phoenician origins. I just gave the guy the examples he asked me to. I didn't say that we are Phoenicians, please review my previous posts. All what i am saying that we are Lebanese, not Phoenicians, not Arabs, not anything else, we are a mixed people of different cultures, races, religions etc... and that's what make the special Lebanese identity. and to prove my point of view i used these examples to tell you that our Lebanese language is formed by mixed words from different origins. There is not a pure Arab race in Lebanon, nor a pure Phoenician race, races were merged up with time, cultures were merged up with time, and this merging made the Lebanese identity, the Lebanese culture, the Lebanese language etc... So bi ekhtissar, my whole point from all of this is to say that we are only Lebanese !!! and there is no need to kill each others in order to defend Arabs or Phoenicians while at the end we have our own identity, our own race, which is the Lebanese one. I rest my case.

Sorry. a PSP member paid me a big amount of money to kill you. so, whatever u say , uagree with me or not, i'll kill u. :P
indeed, (since u r against martyrdom operation) i'll call abou-3oubayda to hug you and blow himself. :P Meghwar, my friend, i'm proud to be lebanese. i'll not fight you or bonjus if u don't agree with me and if u consider that the lebanese "culture" does not make part of the arabic one. simply, i cannot deny the fact that it is this common culture that makes the tunisians hear Fayrouz every morning, and 3abed - el7alim inthe afternoon. i don't have to assist special courses to talk with egyptian or qatari. arts are common, language is common, a big part of the history is common....it is this culture that makes arab tourists to prefer coming to lebanon, not bcoz the nature in lebanon is more beautifull than cyprus, nor bcz we have more historical monuments than any european country (which is not). they prefer lebanon coz they don't have to face the culture shock. bcoz there is common things between us. (even if we are somehow different) Finally, one more reply, and i'll call abou-3oubayda...... |

It is true that we have many common things with Arabs, but we also have a lot of differences. can you deny this fact ?? If no, it means we are not 100% Arabs... so why not having our own identity which is the Lebanese one ?? we as Lebanese have some common things with Arabs, and other common things with the west. so why saying that we are Arabs without taking into consideration the common things with the west ?? it means that someone will consider himself an Arab while others will consider themselves non-Arabs. and that's what happening right here in this thread, everyone is linking himself to a certain identity. personally i feel that being Lebanese is the reality, our Lebanese culture adopts at the same time the western culture and the Arabic culture. considering yourself a pure Arab does not make you a Lebanese, because certainly Arabs are not Lebanese. Even if i was an African, i won't find it hard to communicate with french people for example, because i will speak the same language. so language cannot be the criterion, and i don't think that we share Egyptians, Tunisians or Qataris the same culture or the same habits... even if we can find it easy to communicate with them because we speak the same language, or even if they share us the same religious thoughts.

Well History of families tell different stories to consider myself an Arab, well I am and I am not because my ancestors are not but my parents grandparents and maybe their parents are , so I think that I am , and I am not how well I believe in unity and I believe in that we are all created the same and equal the divinity of race was created by man so.....do we really ask are we arabs or not I think it goes back to the individual him/herself. We know who we are but do we belong to any ...... Through History Lebanon has had so many civilizations so do we consider Lebanon Arabs??? Its a question that can never be answered. We belong to it but does it Belong to ......... So my Answer is
I really can't answer, so I don't know, but in history things change and always will change. all I know is that the earth at one time was one no papers no countries no nothing Man mad it into difference in everything.
